Web host DreamHost has announced the company’s cloud offering called DreamCompute is now available to the general public. DreamCompute is based on OpenStack, Project Astara, and Ceph. DreamCompute pricing starts at $4.50 per month or $0.0075 per hour. The starting price includes 512 MB of RAM and 1 vCPU. The next tier in the DreamCompute pricing table is $6 per month or $0.01 per hour and includes 1 GB of RAM with 1 vCPU.
The DreamCompute service includes full root access and is fully compatible with the OpenStack API. DreamCompute also comes with both an IPv6 and IPv4 address. The servers behind DreamCompute are powered by Intel Xeon CPUs and are all using SSD hard drives.
