Verizon maybe looking to unload 48 datacenters and hopes the sale of the 48 datacenters fetch at least $2.5 billion dollars. Verizon is hoping to sell each datacenter at an average price of about $52 million dollars. The datacenter assets include assets that Verizon acquired when the company brought Terremark Worldwide.
Likely buyers include Microsoft which may grab a few datacenter to increase the company’s datacenter footprint without having to build out new datacenters. Other buyers include IBM which is looking to expand its cloud footprint. Another buyer is Endurance International Group which may invest to acquire additional datacenter assets. Another possible buyer of some of the assets includes private investment groups that may want to enter the web hosting industry. Interested parties should reach out to Citigroup.
